How do I activate an alert that reports that the gate manager has lost connection?

This article explains how to set up an alert that will be triggered when the connection from the gate manager has problems.

  1. Click on your main domain
  2. Then click on "Alerts
  3. And then on the plus "+" sign

The alert name can be freely chosen. You can also choose to send an alert when the connection is established and/or when the connection is terminated.

Please note the following information regarding the recipient input:

In the "Send to" field, specify a recipient for the alert in one of the following formats:
1. e-mail address(es).
The spelling is user@domain.com.
You can enter multiple recipients with a comma as a separator, e.g. user1@domain.com,user2@domain.com

2. cell phone number (SMS) -- requires that SMS services are enabled for the domain!
If you enter the phone number without country code, the country code of the server's SMS configuration will be assumed. Otherwise you should specify the phone number with the country code, e.g. +45 11223344
NOTE: You cannot enter multiple mobile numbers or combine mobile numbers and email addresses in the same alert definition.

3. account e-mail
You can define a specific account as the recipient by left-clicking and dragging the account from the tree view to the Send To field. The result would look something like this: Account: #08002277# JOHN (John Doe).
The #number# represents the account ID in GateManager.
The account name is only informative and can be omitted, e.g. Account: #08002277#

4. account mobile number (SMS)
The procedure is the same as for Account Email, except that you replace Account with SMS, e.g. sms: #08002277#
If no mobile number is specified for the account or if SMS services are not enabled for the domain of the alert (or a higher domain), the alert will be sent as an email to the specified email address of the account.

5. action
It is also possible to perform a specific action when the alert is triggered; simply left-click and drag the desired action from the tree view to the Send to field, and the action will be performed automatically when the alert is triggered.
This can be used, for example, to automatically configure settings for all new SiteManagers that connect to the domain. To do this, copy the relevant sections of a SiteManager backup into an action (Apply to: SiteManager. Command: Upload configuration) and associate this action with an alert that is triggered when a new SiteManager connects.
Another typical use case is to automatically migrate all offline SiteManagers to another GateManager the next time they connect. This is done similarly to the above, by creating an action with new GateManager configuration settings and linking it to a warning that is triggered when a SiteManager connects.
