This article explains the different user rights that can be assigned on a gate manager.
LinkManager user
This is the role for users who should have full access to programming/troubleshooting devices via a LinkManager installed on the user's computer. To connect remotely to the LinkManager account, a LinkManager floating license must exist in the same domain as the account; the license is temporarily assigned to the account during the connection.
LinkManager Mobile
This role is intended for device access via a regular web browser activated from a PC, tablet, or smartphone. The account can connect and view all SiteManagers or devices (agents) for which the account has been granted access, even if no license is associated with the account. For the LinkManager Mobile user to remotely access a device, a LinkManager Mobile license must be assigned to the account.
Basic Administrator
This role allows only the most basic administrative tasks, such as creating and managing accounts, updating SiteManager firmware, and viewing audit reports. In addition, it can make remote connections just like a LinkManager user.
Domain Administrator
This is the GateManager administrator role that can perform all user management tasks, such as organizing devices (SiteManager and agents) and users into subdomains, applying configuration profiles, setting up alarms, etc. In addition, it can establish remote connections just like a LinkManager user.
Domain Observer
This role is intended for users who should have access to accounts, devices, licenses, and reports, but should not be able to influence operations in any way. The role is primarily intended for logistics staff who need access for account auditing purposes.
Distribution Administrator
This role is only applicable to a GateManager with a hosting license installed. The Distributor role has the same privileges as a regular Domain Administrator, with the following additional capabilities:
- Can manually set the "Customer Domain" flag for a specific subdomain.
Server Administrator
This role is usually the owner of the GateManager and the account is placed in the root domain of the server. This role can perform the tasks of any other role type. It also has exclusive rights to:
- Access to the GateManager configuration folders (files, licenses and servers),
- Manually change the "Customer/Distributor domain" flags for a sub-domain,
- Manually enable/disable log tunnels/usage statistics for a customer domain.
- Manually enabling/disabling SMS services for a customer domain.
